Expedition Superman

As the backdrop to Kennedy Plaza and Burnside Park with its skating rink, the Superman Building has been for decades an observer of Providence’s citizens, especially its young ones. Expedition Superman proposes the convergence of public and private activities within this icon of the city through a hypothetical partnership with Providence’s toy maker, Hasbro. The upper tower will house the creative offices of Hasbro, as part of their corporate expansion, while the center floors of Superman will house an Exploratorium, a 6-story experience for children that will merge play and learning. These two programs unite in a single moment within a toy display, linking industry and the future of the city’s youth.
